Thats what Ive been trying to tell ya.

Theres something wrong here.

Walrus and his picture and the things he says arent quite right. Theres something wrong and its been niggling me for a year or more.
Now some one else has finally noticed that things dont add up.

I cant quite put my finger on it.

Personally that tee hee thing---I find extremely irritating.

As well as the rest of the posts.

pirates

Kinda' late to post here but what the hey.

Pirates off Somalia nd in the Phillipine and Malacca Straits are for real.

A while back, after the Seabourn incident off Somalia, we sailed a ship out of here that had a perimeter of containers on the outside of the deck hatches with the "square" in the middle open.

Inside that square were navy seals armed to the teeth just waiting to go to battle with pirates as the ship headed into harm's way.

None encountered, however.

On a personal note, I remember the days of Carlos Lehder in the Bahamas when we all knew to "stay away."

Pirates are us. No sea story.

Delta it's not navy seals you need its NAVY WALRUSs that can really do the job! And it's nice to know that Pirates are for real! Never doubted it!

Neither did the ones I met, but they are just faded memories now (or fish bait!)

Aye ye ken that well eh Bergalia - but did 'ee comply - not very often I'm thinking! My pet landlord had a better idea! his shout was "time Gentlemen - shorts only"! the idea being that if the polis came to the door ye could easily drink a short in seconds, a pint took ages and could get you into trouble for after hours drinking - always within the law was our Les (more or less, and to use my famous quote "tee hee")

Dealing with pirates

Ah happy days Walrus. My local landlord back in the Highlands had a swifter way of clearing the bar - he'd get out his bagpipes and start playing a mournful dirge (I think, because like the rest of the patrons we'd be out the doors, out the windows...anywhere but in the room by the time they were fully inflated). It's the 'Barn bar' just outside Oban should any forum readers find their way to those parts. Great bar - but be warned - when Lachie reaches under the bar...run for the hills.

In fairness to Lachie he was a 'classical' piper - Battle of the Birds etc - the type of stuff that the hearing-impaired Cornish tourists used to flock to hear at Highland Games' etc. BUT he would insist on trying to play "Take Five'...on the pipes it just didn't sound right..

Everything...? Naaaah. A few things, maybe, thanks to the influence of those Irish fishermen blown off course (or too drunk to know East from West )!
