He picked it up,flew in front and did the same thing..I walked around it again.
Testing his patience,I went through this 2 more times with him before I stepped on the walnut. He flew down, gave a little croak, and took off with the booty.

Later I was wondering if he thought I was the stupidest guy he'd ever seen,as it took him 5 tries to get me to step on the nut.

See crows all the time around Vancouver, rolling clams down hills onto rocks or roads. If have a scratch and small dent on my hood from such an incident.

Theres a great study by a Seattle researcher,he proved that crows can remember faces of people for at least several years.

No, but the bird would have destroyed your car window gasket if you hadn't got it by five. In the Keys, they drop crabs. That can get the tourists' attention.

Funniest crow experience was the look on the captain's face when he returned from the head to see a big fish crow standing on the helm station with the vessel's keyring in its mouth! (everyone else already knew the situation) 98 pax on board- Bald Eagle tourboat in the Everglades. Things happened very slowly, and went from bad to worse, slowly, and I'm convinced that bird was enjoying every minute of it. I'm certain it could sense the tension and was playing us for max dramatic effect. It let us get really close a couple of time before hopping away with the keys a few feet. After a great while of this, it flew off with them.

When i was a kid on the farm, our neighbours had a pet. Very clever bird.

I saw one that was a bit ignorant about electricity.
Walking down the street,a crow was poking around a power transformer's terminals on the pole, looking for bugs I guess.
Looking down the street,I heard a loud bzzzzzzzzzt from above as the 4000? volts arced from his beak to his feet and he fell down dead. His friends checked him over.....flew up on the line to look at the transformer from a safe distance, and learned their lesson I guess.
