Chinese river ship launch failure

The panic was growing proportionally to the water level:

Guess the next scene was cut because it was showing the execution of NAs and engineers working on this one.

Guess you are referring to the greatly educative thread "Naval Architects are waste of money". That was the first thing that came to mind too when I saw the video.
I was also thinking of this - if this is the quality of their NAs and engineers, I guess perhaps it's better the thing sank immediately, rather than a month later with 150 persons on board...

Yep, that one . .

But in this case, launch ramp to steep or bad boat or both . . ? ?

Anyway, they gonna fix it, maybe we see it back with some sponsons added, if so than it was the boat to blame . .

Suggestion for next time- put the staging under the boat and give the pillows to the reviewers. How do you say "Hey guys, hang on a second" in Chinese? What do they use the big pillows for when they aren't being used to sink boats? Bizarre.

Now, to be honest, not that in the other parts of the globe things always go much better:

Another reason why you should hire a Naval Architect.

Be sure to have a good one, see a lot of ferries with later added sponsons. Heavier load later on in life, new safety regulations, badly designed, I don't know, anyway food for thought . . . . . . . . .

Some examples . . . . . (not from China )

MS Moby Otta, former Princess of Scandinavia.

‘‘ Launched: November 4th 1975 -- To conform to new safety regulations the Princess of Scandinavia was rebuilt with side sponsons in January–March 1998 at Gdańsk Shiprepair Yard in Poland. ’’

I wonder how good/safe she was without the sponsons in the first place . . ? ?

Tekno Consulting ---> Projects --> Structure

M/V Sardinia Vera, side sponsons added.

M/V Mega Express Five, stern sponson added.

M/V Ile de Beautè, stern sponson added.

Cheers

So, what's the reason for these add-ons, all so similar to each other? Did the rules for ferry ship stability dramatically change at some point of their lifetime?
