Cheap $ 2 Million personal submarine ?!

I've always been fascinated by submarines and this one caught my attention. Although its just a tad over my budget (by about 1,999,999 $) its still interesting

why would you spend that much if you can buy old desiel powered military subs for little more than scrap metal prices? Of course the old surplus subs do not have as many windows, but for well under $100,000 you can get yourself an operational sub.

Yes... and don't forget the $1M+ for the support vessel, the $200G+/ year for the crew and the $100G operating costs and insurance for the lot. Bloody bargain if you ask me...I think I'll get a couple.

I had heard that someone was trying to make an acrylic sphere vehicle like Makakai or NEMO. I wonder who made the sphere and the vehicle and how old that sphere is.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt...I'm going for wood-epoxy on the next one, getting too old to lift heavy glass boats...
