Boats And Divorce...

Hello...

Just another one of my random threads - I apologise in advance to all the righteous and hopelessly self confident that believe that they will never see sorrow in their lives ...

Boats and divorce - seem to go hand in hand - no pun intended...

She did not get my boat as I registered it as my principle residence - nor my truck - which I did sleep in a few nights...

Boats and divorce - just a random thread...

What thoughts....

Strong words are acceptable in this thread...

SH.

When my wife & I lived aboard our sailboat, in Horseshoe Bay, for 3 years, she spent much of her time at a condo we owned. When I built my fishboat & passenger boat in The Philippines, she stayed as far away from the project as possible. When I take off sailing, she can hop from destination to destination by plane, as I don't need her freaking out every tme a decent wave comes our way. Fortunately, we tolerate each others interests, even if we don't involve ourselves in them. Would she keep her sweet demeanour, if we ever divorced? No, she'd gut me like a fish! But, you're free & clear now, Sean. You can focus on you without feeling guilty, go where you wish without nagging or criticism. And, you still get to mess with boats if you want. So, you win!
Mike

The boat is MINE, all mine, and will remain so!

First Mate (boyfriend) says I am a "crabby" captain; I told him if he doesn't like the working conditions, find another ship!

Appropriate...

Hello...

I suppose everything takes some amount of time...
In every life there is a lot of time devoted to healing...

You just hang on and push forward - what the hell else is there to do...
Every now and again I still get a kick out of the self righteous...
The folks who believe that nothing will befall them...
That they are entirely in control...

I know that I have been an ******* - and felt like the above...
I am now starting to respect the quiet, the capable and the humble...
People who just want to start again...
And be content...

divorce is tough.
it involve ego and bitter feeling, hurt feeling.
the fear of loosing ground and face toward society, friends and other.
lawyers like vultures turning around the divorcee, ready to empty the bank account.
divorce is bad for the two parties.
nobody win this one.

quite true, divorce is very destructive for everyone involved, emotionally and financially. It is also destructive for society too.

Perhaps if some time was spent "investing" in the relationship it would not have fallen apart. Perhaps not. That is why choosing wise from the beginning is so important, if not very difficult.

Well -- that just got forwarded to a few hundred new listeners -- awesome! What great music to set sail to. That, and maybe some Paul Winter.

Nice Things About Divorce...

Hello...

Thought perhaps I should get off my back...
There are many great things that go with divorce...

One - if you are not a complete ass - you should only have to do it once...
Two - if she is not completely off her rocker - you are not getting shot at...
Three - you are not in a Cuban debtors prison...

Ah - yeah...

SH.
