boat shows

Hi Everyone:
I have been going through this site for ages and have finally joined because it is great.
I would appreciate your thoughts on the various boat show in which we are considering
being exhibitors.
We are located on the West Coast (Vancouver) and this year we are going "East".
What are your comments/feedback on the following:
Newport Rhode Island in both May and September,
Toronto In-Water Boat Show in September
Annapolis Boat Show in October

We will be in the Fort Lauderdale Show but the three mentioned also interest me.
I look forward to your comments because all show organizers will say their shows
are the best, but I would prefer an unbiased opinion.
Thanks,
M

Boat Show opinion

The Miami boatshow is in February and is the largest and has the most kinds of boats. There is a Strictly Sail Venue, a Sport Fishing and a Luxury yacht venue and a convention center and huge lot full of smaller boats, and other equipment. I was there for three days and really only saw the sailing and convention center venue, and had a quick gawk at the sportfishing boats.

The Annapolis show is very good as well, it has seperate days for power and sail. I have only been to the sail portion.

There are several smaller boat shows along the Eastern seaboard during those months, so if you are planning a 4 month road show, you can probably put up your tent every weekend. I know that Norwalk (in-water) and Hartford (inland) CT have them, and I'm sure there are others.

Also, bring your bathing suit, as our ocean warms up in the summer.

Thanks for the replies. I can't wait to feel real heat again and to be able to swim in
your "heated" ocean.
I've heard a lot about the Norwalk Show and the request for exhibitor information
has already been sent in.
Thanks again.
M.
