Funny thing about 'free market' solutions: their proponents usually want working folks to wind up paying for them, one way or another--it's management who gets the free ride.
My next purchase will most likely be a Nissan pickup, to replace the one I've been driving for eleven years now; I'm planning to buy it in four years when I retire. But it'll be mostly an economic decision--based on price, operating costs and reliability.

Choosing your next new vehicle to make a political statement instead strikes me as more than a little bizarre, not to mention impractical. But have at it; I'm sure Ford will appreciate the business. Even though they'll build your new car with union labor anyway....:)

Which brings up an interesting question. If unions are to blame for the woes at Chrysler and GM, why didn't Ford go down with them? It was just as unionized as they were....

My grandfather always said, "Don't watch your money; watch your health."
So one day while I was watching my health, someone stole my money.
    It was my grandfather.

    Poida,
They have not burned the dry-matter in cane-fields for 10 or so years...

High-rise are restricted in cyclone risk regions... because the southern engineers are lazy?

Houses on stumps = avoid inundation in floods, cooler in summer, allows planting of more trees and shrubs - to maximize oxygen release, and other sensible reasons that southern troglodytes and tent dwellers are yet to evaluate :D

    Troy,
I agree with your view on vehicle selection... That which gives good and reliable service and is least cost to purchase and run... Hyundai Getz, Kia Rio, or something similar gets my mark of approval...

Imagine living in OZ now, the people running the country ( stealing your money) none of them in parliament have ever actually had a real job.
It must be the most unskilled government in Australias history

Well i owned a 300M sold it after reaching 160,000 Km and owned a Toyota and sold it after doing 320,000 Km ... lets just say i spent around 10 times more on the Chrysler, had it break down some 5-6 times more and never found any spare parts for it.

But meh i like American cars even if they aint the most efficient or reliable cars on the planet ...........

    Golf joke

Long ago, when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it's called golf. ......Will Rogers

Don't know that the great wit of Will Rogers ever did any boat jokes, but I thought this was quite funny.

“The money was all appropriated for the top in the hopes that it would trickle down to the needy. Mr. Hoover didn’t know that money trickled up. Give it to the people at the bottom and the people at the top will have it before night, anyhow. But it will at least have passed through the poor fellow’s hands.”

If you re-distribute the wealth, as they did in Russia and China, you only have different thieves, not fewer.

I was told a joke yesterday, Oh jeeez it was soo funny --Ohhh my god I laughed so hard --wish I could remember it.

Humans are competitive, that why we are here. Take that away with some dysfunctional thoughts of equality and we will all suffer a economy that could only be imagined.
