Bluejacket 23 MS

A couple of years ago, in thinking about a new boat, I came across your references to the Bluejacket 23 and became intrigued. Search as I may I could never dig up more than the pictures attached to your thread.

In the evolving mysteries of the universe I discovered yesterday that I have been sailing by one for the past 8 years. It has been stored in a boatyard on a trailer under shrinkwrap. The cover has finally torn and I spotted it.

It is in desperate condition, awaiting the return of an absentee owner, and is to become a retirement project. Further, the yard operator says it is a (the?) prototype. It is very roughly finished and has had some questionable modifications. It has had a short skeg/keel (1' by 3') added to the bow, apparently to aid in sailing, and an extension has been welded to the rudder.

It would appear to me to be real greenhouse for heat. It has a glass panel in the roof, which may open, none of the huge windows in the main salon open.

I will watch for the return of the errant owner and hope to get an inside look and some background on this interesting concept.
