You've used a bit of journalistic licence there old mate and added the last sentence to suit your cause. I never used those words at all and you can check - the post is the first one on page two of this thread.

He didn't edit you. Gamage was actually listing Amajyds' statement in which Amajyds was quoting you. That was 2 posts below yours on page 2, and the line you highlighted was a statement made by Amajyds. So Gamage did not misquote you. (I know, it's confusing.)

However, the original sentence by Amajyds was longer, including a statement alleging some shortcomings on the part of Gamage. There was some editing there by Gamage, to exclude a statement possibly unfavorable to himself. I don't see the point of repeating an interminable list of statements, but you're right. Anyone quoting others needs to be accurate.

Despite the failings on both sides, I think you've been treated badly. I respect your point that you reported this here to make others aware of the dangers of travelling to another country for employment with a company one doesn't know, and specifically, the wrongdoing of Equadhoo. There may have been professional failings on your part (note I said may have been, no way here to know), but the proper way to handle a manager who is not performing to expectations is to pay him off and dismiss him. Whatever the circumstances, having employees work then not paying them is criminal, even if there may be some loophole in local laws. I hope you and other employees get some recovery.

You say you would expect courtesy towards you on a thread that is now on page 11, where it is obvious none of the involved parties can say they're clean – instead, both of the parties - and you - seem to be very interested in pulling everyone here into your "spiff". That makes me suspicious.

No, korvello, I am respectful to people until they prove themselves. Then they have my respect (there's a difference there). But as is often the case - as proven by your above post and numerous other posts by the parties in this thread - they often prove themselves otherwise: That they haven't deserved my respect. And you demanding respect, demanding support, all the while being a troll, surely aren't going to look good in my little black book of people that deserves my respect.

So, in short: This case, where gamage & co., not to mention the company itself seems to hide something, and you accusing people of not being courteous, respectful enough, or supportive is hypocrisy - and the internet is full of that kind of people. So often have I bumped into that type of people on the net, that I have become very wary. You might call it cynicism, what the hell do I care. The only "courtesy" you will se from me, will be me saying "fare well" and tipping my hat, when you give up trolling these parts.

I sent attached letter to the Chairman, Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment and an awaiting for a favorable response from authorities. I don’t know why some members insisting to close this thread. May be Equadhaoo is not an only company depriving salaries from expatriate workers. But very rarely these issues reach to out side world. Therefore I believe that this website owner is not in hurry to close this thread. Just because of one or two requests against 2200 viewers up to now.
I am not ready to leave this so simply and allow Equadhoo to complete existing fishing boats without paying salaries in time to poor workers.
Please remember when an expatriate worker resigned from existing job and come to Male’ and not getting salary at the end of the month he is in deep trouble. Who will feed his family?????? Then who can wait indefinitely 3-4 months?? After that they have two options either voluntarily leave the company with small amount of his due payments and go home and forget balance or take risk, and stay in Male’ and go to Labour Court.
Please note they can fabricate any story and put them in more trouble. That is why I came home. You can clearly see when you go through this Thread. They hired a man to silent my voice. And some matured members stand with them giving pre-matured conclusions. When truth comes out Equadhoo representative disappeared. They may have hired some one else.
Until Equadhoo pay my salary, and give promise to pay salary in time for existing staff and pay pending payments to people who left them without salary I will continue to go on and on and ……

I want to give clear massage to Maldivian employers who are doing this practice that civilized world will not tolerate this forever. This is crime against humanity. How kids going to school, who will feed families when they are keeping their fathers without giving salaries for many moths???????????????????????
I want to know from Maldivian Labour Ministry officials why you can’t see these injustices????? Please give same priority to pay expatriate workers salaries as you are giving for the recovery of government money from these employers.

Let us remember that in the first place if you open a thread you invite comments, some may be in your favour a lot will not - but you ask for them, and invariably you get them - respect has got nothing to do with it! You earn that or you don't IT IS NOT A RIGHT. What is "a right" is that we "speak" respectfully to each other and allow each other to post their views, no matter how contaversial they may be! So far to the credit of all involved that has happened on this thread!

Opinions on the other hand are many and varied, as you would expect, but they are only opinions, as to date no hard and fast truthful facts have been posted! OK Gamage has posted a lot of possible "truths" but all COULD (I'm not saying are, there is no way of proving that) be prefabricated lies - it is a known fact that any form of official paperwork from any country in the world, can be forged - for a price! This stuff is easy! Equadhoo on the other hand have not bothered, maybe they don't care? They see the whole process from a different light; Ok so an employee leaves the job before the end of his contract, and complains about the company - everybody WILL complain about their job at some stage of it! Most not as volably as Gamage, but most do not think they have such a bad view of the company - we haven't heard much from all the other disenchanted employees (and there must be some if Gamage is to be believed - or is he the only one who can use the internet?). As far as Equadhoo are concerned its no big deal is it?

Unlike Korvello who runs hot and cold as the mood and day takes him, possibly for his own agenda to keep this thread running - why? He doesn't really care about Gamage does he or he would be sending him his wages (maybe he is, as Artemis said he is from "C"?!?)

What is clear is that you will not hesitate to use any means necessary – that includes trolling, accusing people, twist people's words, make demands on "respect" and so on and so forth – in order to make this thread go on and one, not realising, that the very cause you – on the surface – seem to be fighting for, will suffer from it.

Wow, so now it's respect for gamage? Sure. THe thing is, in real life it doesn't matter if he's a member o this forum. I am a member of this forum, and the tiny bit of respect I get (or at least that I hope I get) I get from from what I say and how I act, not from the mere existence of a username.

And your insinuation, that money doesn't matter to us (and thereby me), I find, frankly, revolting. It's a cheap rhetorical trick, and you ought to know better.
