| What a nice to get ! I'd advise you to get someone who knows something about boatbuilding to go through it with you again. There are some nifty guys here on the forum if you would care to stay longer than just 1 time...

| i used a drill to check stingers for wetness and rot what i could see was pretty good, the rotten and wetness was on the plywood in the transom and the engine beds the rest seemed to me pretty dry, it doesnt look like a big job changing out the transom or the beds, any advice u guys gotout there , ill tell u the storie on this boat , well a older gentlemen boughtit 2 years ago, sailed it 1/2 hour and the engine blew up , it took a year to replace, when he did replace it he couldnt get it up to rpm's it is a 140A volvo with a 270 leg , so they told him to put a v-8 in it , when the dealer went to install the v-8 they niticed the rotten transom and beds, the qouted him $ 12,000 for repairs + the motor, he simply just gave up ,and said to me if i wanted just take it , (what a blessing) i hope anyways , so the 4cyl is still there just waiting to go in , iam hoping it my be the prop, or something simple, as the motor he has for it is 5 years older than the one that came out ,so iam told by the mechanic, so any helpfull advice would really be great, iam so excited to get it home to get to work on it , thank alot you guys |

| Here's a thread on Bateau.com from Joel Shine, he's documented the entire project and prepared a good tutorial. It is relevant to what you're going to get yourself into. http://forums.bateau2.com/viewtopic.php?t=11294 Joel posts here occasionally so you can likely expect some responses from him. Good luck with your project, looking forward to seeing some pictures. Easiest way to do that is get yourself a photobucket account.
